Dita Von Teese Face Los Angeles Print on Fabric
On red tiger toile and Dutch cow prints. Part of Tim Hailand's “Stitched Toile de Jouy” series, in which the same image is printed on different fabrics, and then hand-stitched together using the Japanese art of Kintsugi — the repairing of broken pottery with gold thread. Created during his artist-in-residency at Claude Monet’s famous garden and home in Giverny, France, Tim Hailand’s signature series was inspired by the wallpapered room in which he lived. The work, characterized by photographic portraits printed on toile de Jouy fabrics, allows the subject to inhabit a fictional world of classical pastoral designs. Hailand’s art has been exhibited throughout the world, including everything from galleries and museums to private collections and a photography book series. 27"W x 41"H (framed).
