For more than a century, Advent calendars have made waiting for Christmas considerably more fun. Originally used simply to mark the days leading up to December 25th, the tradition evolved in the early 20th century to include a little surprise behind each door. By the 1950s, the surprises included chocolate. This version fills 25 numbered boxes with an assortment of chocolate-covered truffles, caramels, toffees, mints and more — making the suspense of opening each one even more delicious.
