Handmade at its studio near Budapest, Herend's endearing porcelain creations are instantly recognized by a signature pattern that dates back to 1858. According to legend, a fish-scale pattern on a Chinese porclain plate inspired a Herend craftsman to paint a similar motif onto a rooster figurine, mimicking the look of feathers.
